酒字趣谈

摘要 我国酿酒的历史已有5000年以上。古代汉字酒字最早出现在甲骨文中,其年代是商代后期和周代前期,距今有3000多年的历史,主要是保存在甲骨、铜器及其他器物上,其中以甲骨上的为最多。有专家认为,“酒字为祭名”,“酉”就是“酒”,为祭祀的对象。古人把酒作为沟通神灵的唯一食品,随着社会的发展,酒与礼制和生活发生密切关系。逐步从祭祀到供帝王贵族饮用,再发展到民间百姓。研究“酒”字的起源,是研究酒文化的重要内容之一。(丹妮)

英文摘要 Wine-making history in China is more than 5,000 years. The character which represents wine first occured in “Jiaguwen” (inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty (16th-11th century B.C.)). Some experts believed that “酉”(the character represents wine at that time) and “酒”(the character represents wine nowadays) represent the same object (the sacred food) because ancient people used wine as the only food to communicate with souls and spirits. With social development, wine had close relations with courtesy and daily life and wine gradually changed its roles (acted as sacred food to drinking among nobles, and then to drinking popularly among common people). The research on the origin of the character “酒” is an important part in wine culture. (Tran. by YUE Yang)
